ORNATUS is a collection of 40 mm automatic dress watches designed in Sweden. A refined case, rounded lugs and carefully composed dials give the collection its understated presence, while sapphire crystal and 200 m water resistance bring practical substance to its elegant form.

ORNATUS finds its expression in the details — polished curves, carefully composed dials and a considered relationship between colour, material and proportion.
case
The polished 40 mm stainless steel case gives ORNATUS its refined silhouette. A rounded bezel and gently curved lugs create continuity between the dial, case and strap. Light moves across the smooth surfaces, revealing a design defined by balanced proportions and a restrained approach to detail.
dial
Manufactured in-house in Sweden, each ORNATUS dial is composed around colour, balance and clarity. Applied hour markers and polished hands bring definition to the surface, while the date window sits neatly at three o'clock. The SANDAHL name and trident complete the collection's distinctive expression.
crown
The polished crown follows the refined proportions of the ORNATUS case. Its grooved edge provides a tactile grip for setting and winding, while the smooth end carries the engraved SANDAHL trident. It is a functional detail given the same care as the surfaces around it.
colour
Colour gives ORNATUS its individual expressions, from rich metallic tones to understated black. Polished steel and textured leather frame each dial, while a colour-matched rotor extends the design to the reverse. The result is a considered connection between the visible face and the movement within.
LUMISAND — MADE IN NYNÄSHAMN
WHEN THE LIGHT FADES
As daylight fades, another side of SANDAHL comes to light. LumiSand is our own luminescent compound, made in-house in our workshop in Nynäshamn, Sweden. It brings our approach to craftsmanship into the details you see after dark.
CHARGED BY LIGHT
LumiSand absorbs light and releases it as a glow in darker surroundings. Its brightness gradually fades, with the intensity and duration influenced by the light exposure before use.
CRAFTED TO GLOW
From the colour of a dial to its expression after dark, every detail contributes to the character of a SANDAHL watch. Making LumiSand in our own workshop brings a personal part of our craft to that transformation.
MECHANICAL AT HEART
THE MECHANICS OF ORNATUS
ORNATUS reveals its mechanical character through an exhibition caseback, where SANDAHL Calibre SC100 and its colour-matched rotor form part of the design.
Each automatic movement is modified and finished in-house in our workshop in Nynäshamn, Sweden. The rotor is finished to complement the dial and carries SANDAHL engraving, extending the collection's attention to colour and detail beyond the front of the watch.
Powered by the motion of your wrist and assembled in Sweden, ORNATUS combines established mechanical engineering with our own approach to finishing and design.
